In memory of Thomas Szikszay
Thomas James Szikszay, 66, affectionally known as Tom, owner of IC Mechanical Inc., passed away on August 29, 2021 in Treasure Island, FL. He is pre-deceased by his parents, George and Margaret Szikszay as well as his sister, Barbara Hall (née: Szikszay).
Tom moved from Grand Blanc, Michigan to Tampa, Florida in 1985. He grew up in the trades and was passionate about the HVAC/R industry. Tom loved the beautiful Florida beaches as well as the mountains of Colorado. Treasure Island, FL and Copper Mountain, CO being his favorites. He is survived by one son, Thomas M. Szikszay his wife, Georgia S. Kaiafas along with three daughters, Katherine R. Szostek (née Szikszay), her husband Kip Szostek, Jaime D. Noland (née Szikszay) and her husband Josh Noland, and Andrea B. Szikszay. Tom also had four grandchildren Noah Szostek, Levi Szostek, Eli Noland and Olive Noland.
Tom will be forever missed by countless friends and family; we are planning a celebration to honor his life with a gathering sometime in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the IC Mechanical Fund online. This fund was set up through the Community Foundation Tampa Bay to distribute funds to charitable organizations, mainly Metropolitan Ministries. Tom and his family believe strongly in their mission to support the local people of our community. Checks may be made out to the Community Foundation Tampa Bay and mailed to 4300 W.
