Plan now for year-end giving

 IRA Charitable Rollover

An IRA Charitable Rollover is one giving strategy to consider as the end of the year approaches.

Owners of Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) have a unique giving opportunity to support their favorite charities without being subject to federal income tax on the distribution from a traditional IRA.

This is particularly beneficial for those with a passion for charitable giving who need to take their required minimum distribution, but do not necessarily need the income this year.

College program inspires student

College program inspires student

Julia Eccles grew up with a learning disability, but it hasn’t stopped her from achieving her dream to become an educator.

She began to see college as a possibility after attending Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) Foundation’s Concept College program. The program, supported by the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay, allows high school and middle school students who are considered “not college bound” to visit PHSC to get an inside look at what college is during a two-day trip.

Learn how Concept College helped Julia reach her full potential.

Visit sparks new ideas

Visit to Atlanta

The Community Foundation of Tampa Bay recently gained new insights and exchanged ideas during a visit to the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, which has $1.1B in assets and serves 23 counties.

Senior staff and ten Board members made the one-day trip to Atlanta to learn how the organization operates. Similar to a chamber of commerce’s “benchmarking visit,” staff and Board members discussed opportunities and challenges and explored new initiatives and strategies that might be right for the Tampa Bay community.

Learn about the ideas sparked on the trip.
