Corporate Philanthropy

Strategic Corporate Philanthropy

Partnering with the Community Foundation Tampa Bay on your company’s philanthropic investments is an easy and strategic way to maximize your impact in the communities you serve. The Community Foundation can customize a suite of services to assist with establishing or enhancing your company’s giving program in the Greater Tampa Bay region, nationally, or internationally.

Utilizing a Corporate Advised Fund at the Community Foundation is a great alternative to establishing a private foundation for your company’s philanthropic endeavors—with all the tax benefits and none of the administrative, legal, tax or regulatory burdens.

Benefits and Services of a Corporate Advised Fund

Personalized Services:

Our Office of Philanthropy serves as your liaison to the nonprofit community. We provide your company with assistance in facilitating annual meetings, setting goals, and sharing information on needs and opportunities in the community by providing research on nonprofits and philanthropic trends.

Ease:

You contribute to your fund when and how you choose while claiming the maximum tax benefits allowed by law.

Hassle-Free Administration and Grantmaking:

You have access to an online grantmaking portal for quick and easy grantmaking. In addition, we handle all administrative services, including IRS reporting, accounting, record-keeping, and compliance. We process and send all your grants with a customized letter after verifying the IRS status of the nonprofit.

Asset Investment Flexibility:

You can choose how our professional managers invest your philanthropic assets on your behalf—for the short term, intermediate term or long term. Or you may recommend your own investment advisor through the Individually Managed Charitable Accounts program.

Ways to Give to Your Fund:

You can open or add to your Corporate Advised Fund with cash. But you also can contribute appreciated stocks, retirement account assets, real estate, cryptocurrency, life insurance, business interests, and other complex assets.

Cost-Effectiveness:

Administrative fees are significantly lower than those associated with a private foundation. All fees to the Community Foundation are reinvested in our philanthropic work in the Tampa Bay community.

Customized Corporate Advised Funds

Customized Grantmaking Cycle:

Looking to impact a specific field of interest? You can create your own grant application processes. Our customizable system allows you to build a customized request for proposals process from the nonprofit community. You can easily track your philanthropic investments.

Branding and Recognition:

You can brand and promote your Corporate Advised Fund in the same way as you would a private foundation, including with a logo, stationery, website, and more. If you choose, your fund can accept online contributions via the Community Foundation’s website.
